COMMISSION PROCESS

 Commissioning art is the process of a client hiring an artist to help create a custom art piece. For example, a client can pay an artist to create a pet portrait, a painting of a loved one, branded artwork for a business, or even landscape pieces of a home or favorite getaway.   

 Typically, the artist will be making a piece for the client's personal collection, but it can also be for a special event, business, corporate collection, museum, or other institution. 

 A lot! Be as specific as possible about what you're looking for. Make sure to clearly outline specifications such as the subject, style, size and your budget. You can also talk about the color palette, emotion, and media to be used. 

 Depending on the artist's availability and the type of work they make, this process could take several months or even longer.
